Bump Day Update- 17 weeks

The baby has had a fun week.  I have been walking, shopping, and riding bikes for the past couple of days.  I have been trying to push myself to be more active lately, but it's been a little difficult not being near our community pool.  I am definitely sore from all the walking and riding a bike.  Cycling is something I only do while in Saint Marks visiting my family and my tookus is so sore from it.

I still haven't really felt the baby move, but I have been a little more active so I am probably moving so much that I can't feel it.  And by the time I hit the bed, I am so exhausted that I pass out pretty quick.
Our little peanut is around 5 oz now and is continuing to grow and grow.  About the size of an onion, it's around 5 inches long from head to bottom.  The cool thing was we went to a 3D/4D ultrasound appointment last week and got to see just how much it's grown.  Its legs were longer than its arms and we could see the bones in some of its legs and arms.  In week 17, they say the baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone.  We got to see the placenta and found out that I am no longer at risk for miscarriage because it has moved away from the cervix which is obviously great news.
Our little onion!

As far as symptoms or cravings, I haven't had too many lately.  Milk is very tempting and I can drink two glasses almost everyday without complaint.  I have also been enjoying vegetables again.  Broccoli, mushrooms, and tomatoes are yummy again and I have been eating them without restraint.  Salad is still not something I can choke down but I hope that will change soon.

According to babycenter.com I may begin to occasionally feel a little unsteady on my feet due to my growing belly.  I am supposed to avoid situations with a high risk of falling and high heels.  I don't think the shoes will be a problem since I'm loving my Crocs at the moment.  But I'm a pre-pregnancy klutz, so that's going to be a challenge regardless of footwear.

Babycenter.com also says I may experience dry eyes starting this week.  I haven't really noticed drier eyes, but my sinuses have been affected by allergies and changing seasons.  Itchy eyes, stuffy nose, and sinus headaches have been a common symptom for the past few days.  Although I know my nose gets more congested due to pregnancy, I am pretty sure everything else has nothing to do with the lil peanut.  As we head to GA this week, I am hoping the allergies will subside and I'll be able to breathe again.

Have a happy hump day everyone!
