David and I celebrated our 3yr anniversary this past Wednesday. And by celebrated I mean we slept in late, said "Happy Anniversary" to each other, and David went to work. I never thought I would be one of those people who doesn't do something amazing each year to celebrate the day they married their soulmate. But there it is and there it went. And honestly, that's okay. I mean it is with us anyway. We have so much going on in our lives right now. A huge change (financially, emotionally, physically, any-ally you can think of) coming around the corner and that has kinda taken precedence over anything and everything else. And it should. Having a baby isn't a cake walk. So I am sure raising a child won't be either. But that's what this anniversary taught me really. That David and I are on the same page. We're ready to put aside selfish and (sometimes really fun) crazy splurges on each other to make room for selfless and crazy splurges on someone we haven't even met yet! I love you hubby... glad we're in this together!
2. Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin!
Maybe it's because October is here. Maybe it's because I see pumpkins everywhere. Or maybe it's because I am pregnant and have weird cravings. I don't know why, but I could eat anything with the word pumpkin on it as long as it's not pumpkin pie. I know... you're thinking I'm crazy. And I am. But that's not what this is. I love the pumpkin spice and pumpkin flavor but for some reason, the actual pie is gross to me. But I did find this at Target the other day and I almost died. If you could smell this bread, you would almost die too. This bread smells like Fall. I don't know how else to put it. The warmth from the spices reminds me of putting on a cozy sweater. The moisture in the bread is like the cold dew in the mornings. And the inherit pumpkin flavor is like the leaves that change color. All I can say is that this bread is going to have a very short lifespan. Mmmmmmm....
3. Pregnant Panties
While freaking out about not having anything to wear for my up-coming trip. I googled pregnant staples that you should have in your wardrobe. I had previously bought some maternity jeans online (huge mistake!), but hadn't really been maternity clothes shopping since being pregnant. One of the things that I was a little shocked by was needing to buy maternity panties. I guess it didn't cross my mind that I'm blossoming into new, stretchy jeans so I mind need new, stretchy undies to wear beneath them. Anyway, after making my first (and hopefully last) HUGE purchase at Motherhood Maternity, I was convinced by the sales clerk to add to the purchase and grab some new undies. I hope I didn't get dooped by consumerism, but they are cute. Here's to filling out those stretchy panties! (Nom nom nom, mmmm pumpkin bread!)
4. Registering Recuperation
Tuesday, David and I headed to Target to finish registering for our upcoming baby shower. We went through every aisle of the baby section and inch by inch made sure that we registered for everything we think we'll need. Maybe it's because I'm pregnant, but that hour-long trip wore me out! And stressed me out. Do you know how hard it is to register for goodies when you don't know the gender of the baby? I mean hardly anything is gender neutral nowadays! Everything is either blue or pink. And if you happen to find green or yellow, it's either paired with blue, pink, brown, or purple to suggest a gender. So annoying! Some things we had to leave off the registry all-together because they didn't have a non-color specific option. Like socks! We couldn't register for any socks at target because they don't make non-colored socks! Where's plain white socks, people?! And some of our items we are just limited to colors so we had to pick either a boy or girl option. For example:
Eddie Bauer High Chair - Clearbrook BlueOur highchair only comes in blue fabric |

We registered for both girl and boy bib packs because they didn't have gender neutral colors. |
5. Cute Dog Pic of the Week:
I was trying to catch up on all my laundry while David was at home this week. David played his new basketball game and I sat on the floor folding load after load of laundry. When I took a potty break, I came back to find Cooper on my pillows surrounded by laundry. Looks like laundry day wore him out too!
6. Julep Mani of the Week:
This week I decided to try Lynn. It's a light pink color and looks calming to me. Maybe it's me willing the baby to be a girl, or maybe I just need a little pink in my life. Either way, I like it. It's subtle and classic. What do you think?
My dear sweet friend... did you really just put a picture of your panties on your blog?!?! You are a major pregnant weirdo. And as for the registry, you find out the baby's gender in like four days! You can update the registry after that. Unless you're completely set on revealing the gender at the shower. Didn't think about that. But just to make you feel better, the two things you mentioned registering for that didn't have gender neutral options are things you won't need for another year basically. I'm pumpkin-obsessed too. I don't think you can blame this one on the baby because I'm not pregnant. (Yes, I'm sure.) Also, Lynn is one of my favorites. It looks really good with your skin tone. P.S. I know you said you think it's a boy, but I think you really are feeling girl. Just an observation. ;)
