With Christmas right around the corner, the baby is enjoying listening and moving to Christmas carols and holiday tunes. We have them playing throughout our house almost all day long. Since her increasingly keen ears pick up sounds from the world, I hope that she enjoys listening to the music. We've been tuning into pandora free radio a lot so we get a variety of Christmas songs to listen to. She has been super feisty most days since we starting bringing the Christmas spirit into our house. Hopefully, babycenter.com is right and loud noises like the dogs barking won't faze her now when she's outside the womb.

Another exciting event happened this week. David felt her move. It was really late at night, but she was a-moving-and-a-shaking so I grabbed David's hand and told him to be patient. I put his hand to the bottom left side of my belly button and we waited. She kicked a little a first and I kept asking him if he felt it. He said he thought so, but wasn't sure because it was so soft. And then WHAM! She kicked so hard I saw his hand move! I told him to talk to her for a little bit before we went to bed and she lightly punched away at the sound of his voice. It was a great experience and I'm so happy she finally let her Daddy be a part of the magic.
Just like her ears are preparing her for the outside world, blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing real air. They say that her sense of movement is well developed by now and she can feel me dance to the music. And I could potentially see her squirm underneath my clothes by now. I don't think that will be the case for a while because she normally kicks and punches me below my belly button which is getting harder and harder to see over. :) She is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound according to babycenter.com. That is around the weight of a large mango. Although (like I've been saying for a while) she probably weighs more than that since she was ahead of the game at 20 weeks.

As far as symptoms go, I have been slightly more hungry than last week and eat 3 full meals plus two snacks a day. Although I'm not able to eat as much in one sitting as I was able to pre-pregnancy, I still feel I'm getting in a lot of fuel for growing a healthy baby girl. I have been having some headaches infrequently and a small amount of lower back pain if I do a lot of moving during the day. Other than that, I haven't had too hard of a week.
Symptoms to look out for include swelling ankles and feet in the coming weeks or months. I know that I'm supposed to grow up to a size and a half by the end of my pregnancy, but I can already see how annoying that will be. I can only fit into (comfortably) three pairs of shoes now. They say to prop my feet up when I can and it does help the feeling of swelling some. So far, I really only swell when I am in one position for too long or I am on my feet most of the day. Here are a picture of the shoes I just ordered with a 30% off discount from crocs.com:

Next Tuesday I'll have our OBGYN visit and will hopefully have a little more information about how the little girl's doing! I can't wait! Until then!
