Saturday Six

1. Go Dawgs!
Probably the most important thing to discuss today is our beloved Bulldawgs.  They are going to war with the University of Alabama for the SEC title!  Even if you don't care about football I would very much appreciate all the love, support, cheering, and good juju you could spare and send it towards the Dawgs today.  The game starts at 4:00pm and I, for one, will be glued to the TV to root for my Alma Mater!  GOOOOO DAWGS!!!

2. Turkey Tuesday!
This past Tuesday, I, Katie Hood-Weber, successfully roasted my own turkey.  Yes, I had help (thank you David!), but I instructed and actually pulled off a very tasty bird.  Word to the pregnant people out there:  Think twice about handling raw turkey nasty giblets and such when your gag reflex is already through the roof.  Nuff said.
This is my "ewwwwwwwww" face.

3.  Crib Chaos
So after not receiving our ordered crib for 2 days past its due date, I asked my lovely hubby to investigate.  He called Walmart's customer service and guess what?!  It was lost in the lala land of shipping trucks. They had no idea where it was, we had no idea where it was, so we mourned a little for our lost crib.  Then the very nice customer service agent told us we'd be sent another to our house, this time, free of charge.  We are hoping that the crib makes it to our doorstep.  Here's our lovely crib that we hope will arrive sometime before the baby is born. ;)

4. Picture Perfect Puppies
Our adorable furballs were all bundled together to stay warm while we were visiting GA.  In fact, Lexi has gotten in the habit of laying on Cooper as her pillow.  Cooper lets her so I guess it's a mutual love for warmth and snuggling.

5.  Miracle in the Making
Instead of buying our pregnancy ornament, I decided to make our own.  I'm going to use a cool technique I learned from a friend.  You take a clear glass ornament and fill it with strips of some memorable paper (we'll be using some of the cards we got from our shower).  You curl the strips and add them into the ornament.  Now, you can stop there and it'll look really cool like this:

Or you can go a step further and add a picture to the ornament like this... sorry about the glare in the photo:

And then I went even farther and painted "Miracle in the Making" on the outside of the ornament.  I really like how it turned out.  What do you think?

6.  12 days of Christmas
This year I decided to do a pinterest idea for my hubby.  Basically this blogger challenged her readers to really focus on not letting the magic die between spouses.  At first I thought it was a little overkill but then I realized she was right.  The holidays, along with joy and merriment, bring stress and tension to everyone.  Whether it's trying to find the perfect gift or trying to survive your family reunions, everyone is always go-go-go around this time of year.  So the blogger suggested taking time everyday leading up to Christmas to concentrate on your husband.  To show you're thinking about him and making time for him during all the hustle and bustle.  I accepted this challenge and have wrapped almost all of the 12 days already.  It may sound really expensive, but if you focus more on showing the other person you care rather than buying out a warehouse, it's pretty doable.  So, I'm gonna pass it along.  I challenge you to show your significant other just how much you care during these holidays.  You still have plenty of time to gather your goodies!  Good luck!
