Thursday Temptations

Thursday:
We didn't get to make Penne with Chicken Thighs last week, so we are planning to use all the ingredients tonight.  It is a pretty easy meal to throw together, but takes a little longer to make since you have to bake it in the oven for an hour.  I am hoping that we'll both like the results so we can enjoy it's leftovers for a while.

Friday:
It's our date night and it's David's turn, but since I don't know what he's got planned I just went with an easy, cheap, and tasty dish.  Emily Bites' Deep Dish Pizza Casserole is an old recipe but a good one.  It makes a lot too which is good.

Saturday:
Since we are making two new recipes that both make several servings, we're going to enjoy leftovers today.

Sunday:
We have Italian Meatball Soup in the freezer from the other week.  So instead of eating the same thing over and over we'll spice it up with leftover soup.  This recipe took a long time to make, but it is tasty and did make a lot of servings for us to freeze and use later.

Monday:
Today I am making a pretty easy and quite tasty recipe from a while ago.  I made this before and while I liked the flavor of the Crock Pot Beer Chicken, I think I want to adjust some seasonings so that I can make it a little more flavorful.  I think I'll use some Blue Moon beer that we have in the fridge and add some fresh squeezed orange juice and some zest to the pot.  I'll also be using chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts because they have a better flavor overall.

Tuesday:
Last week we made homemade Chicken Soup from Pioneer Woman.  This recipe made a tong of leftovers for us to freeze.  There is something very warm and comforting about this soup.  And while picking out the bones from the whole chicken was a little annoying, it was a very simple recipe overall. Because it was so easy, I can honestly say that I might never buy canned chicken soup again.  And it made some many servings that I might never have to!

Wednesday:
The Steak Fingers with Gravy from the other week were so good.  I was a little shocked by the price of cube steak, but after making them, they were worth the money.  And even though David and I are not huge gravy fans, we both loved dipping the sticks in the gravy!  Since there are only two of us, the 2 lbs of cube steak made several 4-5 strip servings so we froze the extras too.  Today we'll be enjoying the steak fingers without the gravy (sad) and we'll pair it with some baked potatoes and grapes.
